Fixed term, full time role until 30 June 2026 Help contribute to community safety by applying expert risk assessment practices Salary band of $86,691 - $93,275 plus superannuation Community Correctional Services (CCS) contributes to the safety of the community by applying practices that reduce reoffending and connect individuals to programs, services and community. CCS provides management of individuals on court orders, people who have committed serious sex offences on post sentence supervision and prisoners on parole. Court Assessment & Prosecutions Officers (CAPS Officers) are responsible for supporting the operation of the Court Assessment and Prosecutions Service and applying relevant work practices. This includes conducting initial assessments, variations or prosecution against an individual's court order. Key responsibilities include: Provide timely, high quality, evidence-based advice to stakeholders Undertake an effective assessment of an individual's risk to community safety Effectively manage individuals exhibiting challenging behaviours Produce detailed reports and other standard documents in line with procedural guidelines This position works on a rotating 9-day fortnight roster which requires attendance in the afternoons and weekends. The Bail and Remand Court (BaRC) functions 7-days per week, between 9am and 9:30pm and CCS provides support to the court via a shift worker roster. The BaRC is the only after hours court within the state where CAPS Officers are available to ensure speedy bail applications and provision of information for the bail Magistrate.
