Be a part of a new EBSS service that will enhance support for complex young people on bail
Deliver meaningful afterhours support to young people
Two year fixed term, full time opportunity working across South East Metro Region
The Victorian Government has announced funding to establish a two-year metropolitan-based trial, the Enhanced Bail Supervision and Support (EBSS), to enhance Youth Justice's capacity to monitor and support young people on bail. The EBSS model is underpinned by the existing Youth Justice Case Management framework which prioritises:
partnering with children, families and community supports to promote rehabilitation
addressing criminogenic risk and needs to reduce the likelihood of re-offending
utilising strengths based and culturally supported approaches
Young people subject to EBSS will be supported by a case management team including a Case Manager, EBSS Case Officer and EBSS Practice Lead. A co-case management model will be used to deliver tailored supervision and support to young people, through strong collaborative practice amongst the case management team. The allocated Youth Justice Case Manager will maintain primary case management responsibility, while supported by EBSS Case Officers and Practice Leads.
This role sits within the broader Youth Justice Bail and Court Advice team and you will work as part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team.
The responsibilities include
Providing case support to young people, including engaging with the young person, completing outreach (including home visits) and supporting case management interventions.
Delivering afterhours support to young people, such as transport to school, work, appointments, and pro-social leisure/recreational activities.
Providing technical expertise in electronic monitoring to support suitability assessments.
Installation, removal, troubleshooting and maintenance of electronic monitoring devices for young people subject to EBSS.
Engaging with complex young people and working therapeutically with young people and their families to promote their rehabilitation.
Successful applicants will be provided with all necessary training to support performance of the role.
