Our leading Douglas-based Accounting practice is seeking a Trainee Client Accountant to join their accounting team - a mix of fully qualified and trainee accountants. You will enjoy full training, financial and study support toward an accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA). As a Trainee Client Accountant you will be responsible for carrying out general accounting functions including preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules/ledgers, bank reconciliations, preparing VAT returns and management accounts. Wider duties will include: * Prepare journal entries and complete general ledger operations * Monthly closings and preparation of monthly and quarterly reports * Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts * Assist in the production of monthly financial reports * Assist in the preparation of tax computations and VAT returns * Account/bank reconciliations * Build relationships with clients * Follow internal financial controls and procedures * Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed * Assist in the preparation of annual statutory financial statements * Assist with year-end closings for clients The ideal candidate for the role of Trainee Client Accountant will be: * Experience of working within an office environment would be ideal * Familiarity with Microsoft Excel * Minimum of 2 A' levels or equivalent qualifications (including mathematics) * Be organised and efficient, with attention to detail * Be task oriented and
