IPHES-CERCA, a research institute in Prehistoric Archaeology are looking candidates to a 4 year predoctoral contract to prepare a PhD about the Data Management in Prehistoric Archaeology, and specifically to define an open archaeological data life-cycle, including the development of data acquisition (Arch-e System 3.0 https://www.iphes.cat/archaeological-data-registration-arch%c2%b7e), the implementation of FAIR data for long-term preservation and re-use, and the adaptation of storage and analysis tools for openness and re-use of data. The candidate is expected to conduct original research on these topics. The activities include data management analysis, its application to archaeo-stratigraphic study cases, the participation in the fieldwork of IPHES-CERCA, and implementation of simulations and software development in Open Science practices.
