Job Description

Job Title: Site Engineer– Waste Water Project Location: Northwest England Package: £45,000 - £55,000 (DOE) + car / car allowance Job Overview: You will play a crucial role in managing the daily on-site activities of waste water infrastructure projects. This includes supervising construction operations, ensuring technical compliance, and maintaining high standards of health, safety, and environmental performance. You will work closely with the project management team, providing engineering support, and ensuring the successful execution of project plans. Key Responsibilities: Oversee the day-to-day site operations to ensure the project progresses in line with the approved construction schedule. Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and site teams to ensure that work is completed safely, on time, and to the required specifications. Provide technical advice and solutions for on-site issues, ensuring adherence to engineering drawings and specifications. Quality Control and Assurance: Ensure all construction activities comply with industry standards, project specifications, and design requirements. Conduct regular quality checks on materials and workmanship, ensuring alignment with environmental and industry best practices. Identify and resolve any technical challenges or design inconsistencies in collaboration with the design and project teams. Setting Out and Surveying: Conduct setting out and surveying duties to establish precise location points and levels for construction activities. Use GPS, robotic total stations, and other surveying tools to ensure accuracy in groundworks and infrastructure development. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance: Ensure all site activities comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, including site-specificrisk assessments and method statements. Promote a strong safety culture on-site, conducting safety briefings and ensuring PPE and safety measures are adhered to. Assist in preparing environmental impact assessments, ensuring wastewater projects meet UK environmental standards. Technical Reporting: Maintain accurate records of site activities, including site diaries, daily logs, and progress reports. Assist in preparing reports on project status, identifying any potential delays or issues, and proposing solutions. Collaboration with Project Teams: Work closely with project managers, designers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth delivery of all technical aspects of the project. Support the project manager in monitoring project progress and attend regular meetings to discuss updates and changes. Problem Solving and Troubleshooting: Provide timely technical support to resolve anyunforeseen challenges that arise during the construction phase. Liaise with the client, stakeholders, and design teams to ensure modifications or deviations from design are properly managed. Key Qualifications: Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. CSCS card holder and knowledge of CDM (Construction Design and Management) regulations. SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) or SSSTS certification is advantageous. Experience: 2-5 years of experience working as a Site Engineer in civil engineering or infrastructure projects, with specific experience in wastewater or water infrastructure projects being preferred. Experience with setting out and using surveying equipment such as GPS, total stations, and laser levels. Familiarity with UK health, safety, and environmental standards in construction, particularly in the water sector. Skills: Strong technical knowledge of civil engineering principles and construction methods, specifically in water and wastewater systems. Proficiency in using AutoCAD, MicroStation, and surveying tools (GPS, total stations, etc.). Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with site teams, clients, and stakeholders. Competence in producing accurate technical reports and
