Closing date:17 March 2025 Head of Business Development An exciting opportunity has arisen to head up the business Development Service in Hull following the retirement of the current postholder.  You will be responsible for leading the Councils Business Development Service at an exciting time for Hull.  On the 6thFebruary 2025 the Mayoral Combined Authority for Hull and East Yorkshire was formed and the role will help develop the new relationship with the business community and Mayoral Combined Authority.  The election for the Hull and East Yorkshire Mayor is confirmed as the 1stMay 2025. In the last decade Hull has seen unprecedented levels of investment bringing over£6billion of investment into the City.  This has included record levels of housing delivered,£0.5billion of investment from Siemens Gamesa and£0.5billion from the University of Hull. Reckitt opened their global R&D facility, not to mention the success of City of Culture.  Positive change is occurring, and we want you to ensure this continues. You will lead the City’s next stage of transformation and play a pivotal role in continuing the City’s journey through devolution with our neighbours the East Riding of Yorkshire Council and leading on the development and delivery of the Inward Investment team, Youth Enterprise and Micro business agenda and wider business support service. We are looking for a strong leader to continue the services success in enabling and facilitating the growth of our business community with a focus on delivering the ambitions of the City’s Community Plan with a focus on securing employment and training opportunities for all.
