Position Title: General Store Manager Employer: 1000639446 Ontario Inc o/a Jireh's Convenience Store Employer Address: 705 Grandview St. N, Oshawa, Ontario, Canada L1K 0V4 Work Location: 705 Grandview St. N, Oshawa, Ontario, Canada L1K 0V4 Language of Work: English Number of Vacancies: 1 Terms of the Position: - Terms: Permanent, Full Time Position - Hours: 35-40 hours/week - Wage: $44/hour - Work Conditions: - Mornings, days, evenings and weekends may be required - Must be willing to travel to source and evaluate products to be offered in-store Skills and Experience Requirements: - Education: Secondary school diploma. - Minimum Experience: o At least 7 months or more of experience in retail sales or business ownership experience. o Previous experience in sourcing, importing and marketing a variety of Nigerian food and personal products in Canada. o Experience in financial reporting and planning in a retail environment. - Personal and Physical Attributes: o Strong leadership and communication skills o Demonstrated ability to manage staff (at least 1-2 people), interact with customers and coordinate with suppliers effectively o Be customer focused and detail oriented - ensure excellent service, accurate inventory management and smooth store operations o Capable of standing for long periods of time and able to assist with inventory and display management (able to lift up to 40 lbs.) o Possess familiarity with Nigerian products and consumer preferences to enhance store offerings. Job Duties: - Oversee daily store operations, ensuring efficient and smooth management of sales, customer service, and staff performance. - Manage inventory and procurement, ensuring a well-stocked selection of Nigerian market products. - Conduct and analyze market research and customer trends and preferences to identify opportunities to increase sales volume. - Identify and maintain relationships with Canadian and international suppliers and distributors. - Manage, supervise and train staff, assign duties, monitor performance, and ensure compliance with store policies and procedures. - Manage all hiring and development and retention of staff. - Develop and implement sales strategies, promotions, and merchandising plans to attract customers and increase revenue. - Identify, research and source products for sale. - Develop and implement pricing and credit policies. - Monitor financial transactions, including cash handling, POS system operations, and ensuring accuracy in sales reporting. - Ensure high standards of customer service. - Address customer inquiries, resolve complaints, and enhance customer satisfaction. - Analyze sales trends and market demands, making recommendations to optimize inventory and boost store performance. - Coordinate with vendors and suppliers and negotiate pricing of products to ensure profitable operations for the store. - Develop and ensure compliance with budgets, authorize all expenditures, and oversee the overall financial health of the business.
