Location of Work: 315 Highway 17, White River, ON, P0M3G0 Title of Position: Assistant Kiln Operator (NOC 94129) Language: English Vacancies: 2 Type of Position: Permanent, full time Unionized: Yes Job Duties: Assistant Kiln Operator will be working at Sawmill Department. · Operate and tend kilns. · Start up, shut down, set up, adjust and assist in maintaining processing equipment and machines as required. · Load and unload kilns. · Remove stacks from crane area. · Perform moisture checks (hot checks). · Arrange dry lumber coming from kilns and sort according to planer production. · Make sure there is enough dry lumber for the planer on a continuous basis and make proper arrangements for a line change. · Ensure equipment is operational and report problems to appropriate personnel. · Change frayed cables as needed and make sure hooks are in good working condition. · Record information in log book daily.
