Flynn Canada Ltd. is currently recruiting for a Design Manager to fill 1 vacancy in our Toronto and surrounding area (6435 Northwest Drive, Mississauga, Ontario, L4V 1K2). Responsibilities Include: · Manage and oversee daily functions of Design Team members. · Review Architectural curtain wall design concepts and produce actual working details. · Provide accurate proposal drawings and details (both 2D/3D) when required. · Read and understand Architectural and Structural Drawings. · Foresee/solve and address curtain wall issues as they arise. · Meet with Architects/consultants/PM's when required to provide design input. · Ability to read, understand and review Specifications providing input for potential risks. · Demonstrating ability to resolve details with "Workable" solutions and design. · Ability to recognize, solve and instruct draftsmen on detailing issues. · Resolve outstanding drawing issues and pursue contract clarifications as required. · Design/Develop Die shapes. Contact and work with suppliers. · Correspond and plan the execution of projects with Estimating, Project Manager(s), and the Design/Construction teams. · Demonstrate seasoned understanding of curtain wall systems, air seals, and design related detailing. · Provide supervision, guidance and feedback as required. · Liaise with construction teams. · Provide frequent contact and interaction with all involved on projects (drafting/shop/site/etc.) · Measure performance and implement process improvements. · Solve and provide when required accurate Mock-up drawings, test procedure, and mock-up execution coordinating with all involved. · Ability to multi-task working on a number of projects ongoing. · Provide accurate Thermal modelling reports when required with the use of LBNL Window/Therm/Optics software. · All other duties as required.
