Learn more about our extraordinary teams building inspiring projects in our Impact Report.  Pluto Train 2 is the expansion of a second LNG train at the existing Pluto LNG onshore facility near Karratha in Western Australia run by Woodside Energy.  Woodside Energy is Australia's leading natural gas producer, and Bechtel is excited to be working with this key customer to help meet the increasing global demand for LNG as a transitional energy source. Bechtel is looking for CSU Process Engineer with experience in the field of Commissioning and Start-up in LNG/LPG projects. This role will report to the CSU Process Engineer System Lead and is responsible for planning and conducting the work. Major Responsibilities: Resolving Process System’s issues, within and across systems. This includes locating and diagnosing trouble in mechanical equipment, components, and systems, developing technical solutions, preparing change documentation. Providing technical guidance including interpreting new or special regulations, codes, standards, criteria and performance data and interpreting designs, drawings, and O & M manuals. Develops dynamic simulation models for process and control studies if required and development of Operator Training Simulators. Perform process design, operability, plant troubleshooting and control studies using process models. Deliver the OTS system to site and participate in site acceptance testing with the customer. Perform plant shutdown, warm startup and other tests in training simulator and ensure validity of the results. Develop operating procedures for startup, production changes and other plant scenarios using OTS and modify and prepare any new requirements of the procedures. Use OTS system to train operators and instructors in various plant operational scenarios. Utilize instructor training and trainee performance tools for this purpose. Prepare the System/Unit for the readiness of the Unit Demonstration test and execute the UDT procedure with Client for successful demonstration of the Unit. Participate and assistance in the demonstration of the Performance Test. Reviewing engineering and vendor documents for startup requirements, notifying project personnel of problem areas, and providing help developing recommended solutions. Coordinating assigned startup activates between project engineering, construction, specialty staff groups, clients, and vendors, as applicable. This includes Identifying and helping resolve issues resulting from conflicting requirements and unsuitability. Development of documentation for system testing and turnover including scoping of drawings and Teamworks, participating in development of the project startup manual, preparing system pre-commissioning and commissioning testing procedures and integrated system/unit test procedures and other similar required documents; Prepare system commissioning / Startup test procedures for assigned systems. Complete testing per STCP’s, SWPP’s, Pre-com procedures and other specific procedures which may be required to be prepared in this position. Complete all test records, data sheets, etc. to fully document testing activities.  Prepare preventative maintenance procedures and schedules for maintaining equipment once it has been commissioned. Complete long-term storage and maintenance requirements on equipment following turnover from construction to startup prior to when it is commissioned. Fully document these activities and submit permanent records for incorporation in the maintenance database; Provide input to engineering on revisions required to system descriptions, vendor operating and maintenance manuals, etc. based on review of documents during development of test procedures and executing of the commissioning to ensure all such documents are consistent. Prepare FCN/FCR/SFR/NCR/DR’s as required to document as-built conditions and/or properly resolve deficiencies; Prepare detailed startup plans for assigned project system commissioning activities, integrate all discipline activities into these plans; Provide input and updates to project controls as required to maintain accuracy and progress of project schedules; Assist developing Operation training manual. Participate in system turnover walkdowns/PSSRs, both Construction and Client turnovers; initiate, track and resolve punchlist items for assigned areas of responsibility; Provide preventative maintenance input for procedures and schedules for maintaining equipment once it has been commissioned. Provide technical direction to craft professional as required to perform assigned tasks; Perform other duties as directed in support of project activities Education and Experience Requirements: Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience​ Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: In-depth experience related to startup and commissioning of industrial, process or utility facilities or other relevant experience such as construction, engineering, field engineering or operations in industrial, process and utility facilities including progressively increasing levels of responsibility in supervisory and technical roles. In-depth gas plant experience in operations or commissioning preferred (i.e Commissioning and startup of ( Warm End, Cold End , Air compressors, Nitrogen Generation package, Regen Compressor, Turbo Expander). Ability to use Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel proficiently. Ability to use BSAP’s and Aconex proficiently. Working knowledge of Teamworks, Set route and Completion module. Knowledge of industry and regulatory standards, and design criteria pertinent to gas plants. Strong oral and written communication skills.
