Located on Gadigal Country in Camperdown, the First Nations Events and Engagement Trainee will join the Diversity and Inclusion team at The University of Sydney. You’ll work alongside the Staff Engagement Coordinator to support programs and events that celebrate cultural diversity, promote leadership and engage staff networks. Your responsibilities will include: Assisting in the delivery of programs such as the Sydney Women’s Leadership Program, Vice-Chancellor’s Sponsorship Program and Positioning for Promotion Program. Engaging with staff networks (PRIDE Network, MOSAIC Network, DAWN, Women@Sydney Network, YURA Network) to coordinate events, promotions and meetings. Managing logistics for key University events like Mardi Gras, International Women’s Day and Disability Inclusion Week. Providing administrative support, including managing the Diversity and Inclusion inbox. This role is a chance to develop your event management and communication skills while contributing to a culture of inclusivity and empowerment at one of Australia’s leading universities. What We’re Looking For We’re seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals who: Have excellent communication and organisational skills. Are passionate about diversity, inclusion, and community engagement. Are proactive, adaptable, and ready to take on a variety of responsibilities. Have a basic understanding of office software and a willingness to learn. What You’ll Receive National Training Wage Award from $26,000, plus 11.5% superannuation. Fully funded Certificate III in Business qualification. A supportive environment for recent secondary school leavers to develop professionally. Traineeships are NOT available to people with tertiary qualifications. Current university applicants may need to defer their studies to be eligible.
