Join our dynamic academic team as a Senior Lecturer in Indigenous Health and Wellbeing, where you’ll inspire the next generation of culturally safe health professionals. In this pivotal role, you’ll lead innovative curriculum design, champion Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives, and foster Cultural Safety in public health education. Your research will address pressing health equity challenges and span diverse health disciplines, aligning with our mission to drive meaningful change. Beyond the classroom, you’ll forge impactful partnerships with industry and communities, creating opportunities that benefit students, advance public health, and strengthen UniSC’s connections with the wider community.

contribute to learning and teaching practices within the public health discipline;
undertake high-impact research;
supervise honours students and HDR candidates;

You will have a genuine enthusiasm for teaching and learning, prioritising students’ needs and employing innovative methods to create an engaging and supportive learning environment. Your strengths in assessment and feedback will ensure fair evaluations, helping students progress and identifying areas for improvement. Adaptability and flexibility are key, as you’ll tailor your approach to meet diverse learning needs and respond to changing educational trends. A commitment to continuous professional development is essential, as you’ll actively seek growth opportunities, attend workshops and conferences, and engage in research to stay at the head of the field.
completion of a doctoral qualification in a relevant field or equivalent accreditation and standing;
proven track record as an effective teacher, the capacity to conceive, develop and deliver higher education curricula and contribute to relevant areas of teaching;
sound and established track record of research activity commensurate with the level of the position;
sound leadership contributions and personal qualities that influence the development and maintenance of a positive academic environment which is conducive to high levels of engagement and standards of achievement for both staff and students;
participation and success in academic administrative functions e.g. program coordination, within a University;
membership of and sound connections with relevant professional bodies and community groups and/or in professional practice; and
evidence of participation in academic development activities and the desire to continue to learn and improve as an effective academic.
