Learn more about our extraordinary teams building inspiring projects in our Impact Report.  Job Summary: As Mechanical Designer, you will use 2-D/3-D computer-aided design (CAD) to develop designs for mechanical engineering such as earthwork, drainage, road design, and foundation. You will help construct detailed scale models, develop work plans, and review drawings for quality, accuracy, and completion. Your collaboration across disciplines will coordinate compliance and quality in the overall project design. Major Responsibilities: Develops designs for complete and complex Mechanical engineering systems such as earthwork, drainage, road design, foundation, and steel detailing with minimum supervision from which detailed scale models and/or construction drawings are completed Assists in constructing detailed scale models Ensures compliance with approved Mechanical design standards in own work and by those assigned, to provide quality design Reviews and checks calculations, design models, drawings and design documents prepared by assigned designers/drafters for quality, accuracy, neatness, functionality and satisfactory completion Participates in constructability reviews Possesses responsibility for the accuracy of bulk material quantity take-offs and material requisitions for materials applicable to the discipline Develops work plans, budgets, and schedules for basic Mechanical designer tasks based on input and direction from supervisor in designated discipline Provides on-the-job training for personnel within Mechanical design Generates 2D drawings or 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) design models of high complexity with minimal guidance from others Ensures Mechanical systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards Education and Experience Requirements: Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience Required Knowledge and Skills: Sound knowledge of design and drafting techniques, engineering drawings, graphic arts, reading of drawings, and reproduction methods used by the discipline. Experience with multi discipline interface management and global 3D model oversight. Expertise in reading, interpreting and using related documents and drawings prepared by other project groups. Knowledge of the application of engineering and construction materials related to design responsibilities.
