Job Description
Our client is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their leading organization, responsible for managing costs related to highway projects from the initial planning stages through to project completion. The successful candidate will work closely with customers and stakeholders to support successful project delivery, adhering to legal and quality standards. They will engage with supply chain partners and manage all costs related to projects in accordance with contractual agreements.
Job Description:• Manages costs related to highway projects from planning to completion.
• Works closely with customers and stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
• Manages all costs related to projects in accordance with contractual agreements.
• Monitors and reports on the commercial position of projects.
Responsibilities:
• Oversees projects’ financial performance, ensuring profit target and efficiency savings.
• Adheres to contractual timescales and administers change control appropriately.
• Identifies and manages risks and opportunities effectively.
• Delivers a compliant procurement process and selection.
• Deals with commercial queries and advises on legal matters.
Manage the Supply Chain:
• Ensures all suppliers are fully compliant before any orders are issued.
• Conducts audits as and when required.
• Administers the contract effectively.
Monitor theprogress of works and report on project performance.
• Maintains accurate and up-to-date financial logs, cost plans, and project forecasts.
• Undertakes monthly reporting, including Monthly Progress Reports (MPR), Cost Value Reconciliation (CRV) and commentaries.
Ensure the company and clients’assurance process is followed.
• Builds, develops, and strengthens relationships with projects, clients, and commercial team members.
Key Deliverables:
• Contract Management
• Cost estimates and forecasting accuracy
• Weekly&monthly reporting of commercial performance• Timely revenue from billing applications to customers
• Cost control processes
• Resolution of payment issues
• Interim valuations, Contractors’ claims, and settlement for Final Accounts.
Experience and Knowledge:
• Proven and recurring success in a Quantity Surveying role.
• Ability to work independently without supervision.
• Good level IT proficiency.
• Understanding of Lean principles.
Qualifications:
• Degree qualified in a Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related course (or equivalent qualification / relevant experience)
• Hold or working towards a professional membership with a recognised and relevant Professional body i.e. Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (CICES) (desirable)
• CSCS card holder (desirable)
