Location: Sheffield
Salary Scale:£86 to £100 per day

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping students overcome barriers to learning and supporting their emotional well-being. The Role:
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who experience a range of social, emotional, and mental health challenges. Your key responsibilities will include:
Personalised Support: Provide tailored support to students, helping them engage with the curriculum and develop coping mechanisms for managing emotional difficulties.
Behaviour Management: Implement behaviour strategies to support students in maintaining positive behaviour in the classroom and other school settings.
Emotional and Social Development: Foster a safe and nurturing environment, offering emotional support and guidance to help students build resilience and self-esteem.
Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure the holistic development of each student.
Team Teach: While prior training in Team Teach behaviour management strategies is preferred, it isnot essential. We are happy to offer Team Teach training free of charge to successful candidates.
Requirements:
Previous experience as an SEMH Teaching Assistant or similar role, particularly working with students with SEMH.
Strong empathy, patience, and a passion for helping students overcome social and emotional barriers.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships.
Flexibility and the capacity to work collaboratively within a supportive team.
Experience with behaviour management techniques is desirable, though Team Teach training willbe provided if necessary.
