Graduate Tax Assistant – Sheffield £24K Are you a graduate and interested in exploring a challenging career in tax? GRB are working with a team of experts in a specialist area of tax, who are looking for a high-calibre graduate to join them within their Sheffield office. You will have the opportunity to specialise in all aspects of tax, related to their specialist area, as well as being given the opportunity to study for a fully-supported professional qualification in tax (ATT or CTA) You will assist the directors in providing specialist tax advice and services to a range of clients, with projects ranging in complexity. Additionally, the role combines both numerical work and report writing, as well as some travel to client sites and occasionally overnight stays when needed. This is an immediate start role and is only suitable for those who have already graduated.What could you be doing? Attending client meetings and assisting with qualifying projects Conducting tax research Reviewing and verifying documentation to support claims, including project documentation and financial records Assisting with the preparation of technical tax reports Liaising with clients, accountants and tax authorities What makes this role unique? Those with a degree background in Software Development or Computing, Science or Engineering with an interest in accounting or tax would be of strong interest, due to a large percentage of their client base being tech organisations and the nature of the job Those with a degree in accounting, finance or similar would also be of interest Other degrees (or equivalent) would be considered, alongside a strong interest in pursuing a career in tax Both good numeracy and strong written communication skills due to a larger percentage of the role being report writing Excellent communication skills for both face-to-face and Zoom meeting Ideally based in or around the Sheffield area A full driving licence is a bonus Good extra-curricular interests
