Senior Import Customs Clerk Responsibilities: Import/Export Management: Register shipments, frame and EDI Bills of Entries for various modes of transport (sea, air, road, rail). Documentation: Process and verify the accuracy of source documents, including Certificates of Origin. Customs Compliance: Ensure compliance with customs regulations, handle customs stops, and submit relevant documents for final release. Coordination: Arrange inspections and releases from Port Health, Plant Inspector, State Vet, and other authorities. Transport: Arrange deliveries– both FCL and LCL Data Management: Enter and manage data accurately, correct errors, and maintain records. Customer Service: Coordinate with clients, agents, vendors, and shippers to resolve issues and maintain process flows. Requirements: Experience: Typically 4-5 years in customs clearing andforwarding, with solid knowledge of shipping documents and procedures. Skills: Strong mathematical and analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in relevant software (e.g., ASM Sequoia, CNS, Destin8). Education: Certification in Customs Clearing&Forwarding; a Logistics Diploma is advantageous.
