We are seeking an experienced Claims Handler to join our client's busy team, focusing on defending pre-litigation personal injury claims. This role is ideal for someone with over 5 years of experience in an EL/PL claims handling role, preferably with retail claims experience. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, a strong analytical mindset, and a methodological approach to work. Day-to-day of the role: Handle complex and high-value claims (excluding catastrophic claims). Utilise the MOJ EL/PL Portal effectively. Communicate with opponents, experts, statutory bodies, and clients via email, telephone, and in writing. Negotiate issues of liability and quantum. Pursue the recovery of client’s losses from third parties, where appropriate. Maintain accurate financial, reserve, and risk management information on all claims. Comply with internal, client, and procedural protocols. Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, ensuring high standards of client care at all times. Provide excellent customer service to litigants in person. Stay updated with relevant legislation and practice, and ensure compliance with SRA/Law Society Regulations. Carry out duties with due regard to the firm’s Equality& Diversity Policy. Required Skills& Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of experience in an EL/PL claims handling role. Experience in handling retail claims is highly desirable. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficient IT skills.
