Job Description
Are you an experienced and passionate SENCo looking for an exciting opportunity in a supportive mainstream secondary school? We are seeking a dedicated SENCo to join our team on a temp-to-perm basis, starting from Easter 2025.
About the Role:
As the SENCo, you will play a crucial role in leading and developing the school's SEND provision, ensuring that all students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) receive the tailored support they need to succeed. Working closely with staff, students, and parents, you will be responsible for coordinating interventions, liaising with external agencies, and ensuring compliance with EHCPs and SEND regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage SEND provision across the school, ensuring an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Identify, assess, and monitor students with SEND, implementing targeted support strategies.
Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to deliver effective interventions.
Oversee the development and implementation of EHCPs, ensuring legal compliance and best practices.
Provide training and guidance to staff on SEND strategies and inclusive teaching approaches.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SEND legislation and best practices to drive continuous improvement.
Requirements:
To be considered for this SENCo position, you must have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience teaching in the UK.
A strong understanding of SEND legislation and best practices.
Experience working as a SENCo or in a leadership role within SEND.
An Enhanced DBS on the update service.
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and support both students and staff.
