The service you will work in….
Camden Crisis Sanctuary is a safe, welcoming and inclusive space for individuals who are struggling to cope with their mental health. On meeting with service users we aim to support them to reduce their immediate anxiety and crisis, without needing to book an appointment.
We provide 1-to-1 support to help service users to find the best path forward. We also encourage development of a safety plan for the next day as well as longer term plans which could involve contact with statutory services, and access other services in their area.
A day in this role looks like….
As a Recovery Worker at Hestia, you will play a crucial role in our Mental Health and Complex Needs service. Your contributions will directly influence the lives of our service users, guiding them towards a path of empowerment and independence.
A day will never look the same and some of the things you can expect to do/be responsible for are:
Possess a strong understanding of techniques to manage and mitigate mental health crises, and the ability to effectively apply these strategies in high-pressure situations.
Demonstrate strong teamwork skills, actively contributing to a collaborative environment where colleagues work together to provide comprehensive support to service users.
Exhibit proficiency in administrative tasks and record-keeping duties with a professional approach, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to organizational protocols.
Show sensitivityand empathy towards service users, actively identifying their individual needs and providing appropriate emotional support in a compassionate manner.
Have knowledge of signposting resources within the mental health sector, enabling the provision of relevant information and guidance to service users seeking additional support beyond immediate crisis intervention.
Clearly articulate the aims and objectives, pathway and service model to people using the service so they can fully participate in and co-produce their support.
Develop co-produced group activities, peer support networks and othercommunity-based approaches to empowering service users to achieve their goals and aspirations and to encourage service users to access these opportunities.
Participate in the core work of the service, providing support to colleagues, carrying out tasks allocated by the service manager and using initiative to identify and deal with additional tasks as they arise.
Ensure that administration is done in good time; that detailed, concise and accurate records are created contemporaneously and that confidentiality is appropriately maintained.

We are looking for candidates who bring a combination of passion, expertise, and dedication to the table. To excel in this role, you should possess:
Knowledge of issues affecting those individuals with a range of mental health conditions including crisis management, how to communicate effectively with these individuals and how to support them with dignity and respect.
Knowledge of relevant Mental Health legislation i.e. Care Program Approach (CPA) processes.
Understanding of the principles of recovery as an ethos and a range of recovery approaches.
Ability to work with statutory services i.e. NHS at the front line.
Awareness of health and safety issues.
Availability to work Monday to Sunday from 4:30 PM to 11:30 PM, and on bank holidays.
Good literacy and numeracy skills, able to produce clear written correspondence inhard copy or email.
Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and ability to address them appropriately.
Demonstrable experience of working with individuals who have experienced mental health and/or dual diagnosis issues.
