Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to join our team within the Transmission&Distribution (T&D) sector. The ideal candidate will have experience working with high-voltage projects, preferably up to 400kV, and a background in National Grid-related work or similar utilities. This permanent role offers the opportunity to lead critical projects in the transmission and distribution network, with the added requirement of occasional nationwide travel to project sites. Key Responsibilities: * Project Management: Lead and oversee all phases of transmission and distribution projects, ensuring successful completion from initiation to handover. * Stakeholder Management: Liaise effectively with clients, contractors, subcontractors, regulatory bodies, and internal teams, particularly in relation to National Grid or similar high-voltage utility projects. * Risk Management: Proactively identify, assess, and manage risks to ensure the delivery of projects within scope, time, and budget. * Team Leadership: Lead multidisciplinary teams, ensuring effective communication, coordination, and collaboration among all parties. * Scheduling and Budgeting: Develop, maintain, and control project schedules, ensuring all project deliverables are achieved on time and within budget. * Quality Control: Ensure that all project deliverables meet the required quality standards and regulatory requirements. * Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for the project team. * Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and deliver project progress reports, presentations, and detailed documentation for stakeholders. * Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve project delivery processes, safety, and efficiency. Key Requirements: * Experience: A minimum of 5 years’ experience in project management within the transmission and distribution sector, with specific expertise in high-voltage projects (up to 400kV). * National Grid Experience: Prior experience working with National Grid or similar utility providers is highly desirable. * Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of transmission and distribution infrastructure, including substations, overhead lines, and cable systems. * Project Management Qualifications: PMP, Prince2, or equivalent project management certification is preferred. * Travel Flexibility: Willingness and ability to travel to various project locations across the UK as required. * Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. * Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate project teams, manage resources, and drive successful project delivery. * Risk and Safety Management: Solid understanding of health and safety standards and risk management practices within the transmission and distribution industry. * Commercial Awareness: Ability to manage project budgets and resources efficiently, ensuring cost-effective delivery. Desirable Skills&Qualifications: * Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. * Previous experience with 132kV to 400kV transmission networks. * Familiarity with relevant standards and regulations in the UK (e.g., NER, IEC, ISO). * Knowledge of project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera). * Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
