Job Title:        PE Tutor Location:        Higford School, Shifnal, Shropshire Salary:            £24,316.00 per annumHours:            40 hours per week, Monday to Friday Contract:        Permanent; Term time only UK applicants only. This role does not offer sponsorship. As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a PE Tutor to join our close-knit team at Higford School, part of Options Autism. About the role This is an exciting role which is challenging and rewarding in equal measure with support from a strong and experienced team. We are seeking a subject specific tutor with a responsibility for physical education.  The PE tutor will take responsibility for the delivery of lessons across the school. They will take a creative approach to planning and leading lessons for students with varying complex needs. The tutor will support the class, working directly with students to support engagement throughout sessions. The tutor will be required to complete plans for their subject areas, showing progression and clear adaptation in their strategies as well as ensure robust assessment is carried out with support from the class teacher and support team.  The successful candidate may also be eligible to apply for the Outcomes First Group Teachersof Tomorrow Programme which offers three different funded routes into teacher training with each providing you with the opportunity to upskill whilst continuing to work.  Key tasks and responsibilities To plan, deliver and teach to individual students or small groups, in accordance with the School’s Curriculum framework and related policies and in liaison with class teachers and the curriculum lead.  To monitor, record and report on student progress in liaison with all education staff. To promote, in line with company policies, the physical, educational and moral development of the students  To contribute to the development and implementation of an environment and programme of learning for the individual student to ensure progression at an appropriate and satisfactory rate  To support the class teacher in organising the classroom, its resources and student groupings to provide a stimulating learning situation appropriate for students with autistic spectrum disorder  To work collaboratively with the class teacher to adequately plan to ensure the safety of students, in line with risk assessments, while both on and off site  Work with and manage challenging behaviour,enabling Students to develop regulation strategies.  To play a full part as a member of the School’s multi-professional team, ensuring effective working relationships with colleagues  To maintain regular communication both informally and in meeting times, ensuring the individual needs of thestudent are being met effectively.  To keep up-to-date with specified subject area, educational practice and autism-related information  To ensure that all relevant education policies and procedures are implemented in full  Safeguard all students and ensure their safety and wellbeing  Aboutus Options Higford is a special school set in 28 acres of beautiful Shropshire countryside.
