Job Title: Buying Assistant Reports to: Senior Buyer Depot: Support Centre Main Duties The buyer is responsible for purchasing stock required to ensure control and maintenance of stock levels across the business. Key Skills• Raising purchase orders, ensuring accuracy. • Expediting orders to ensure stock availability and following orders through to delivery of goods. • Communicating any potential delays, supply, or product issues to the impacted team. • Build and maintain effective and collaborative relationships with the supply chain. • Reporting any cost increases as they arise. • Working closely with other departments to identify and deliver new sourcing opportunities. • Identify invoice queries and communicating these to the supplier and wider team. • Ensure supplier costs are up-to date and accurate. • Maintain procurement schedules and updating on a weekly basis. • Monitor supplier performance and escalate issues to the senior buyer. Knowledge and Experience: • Have previous experience of working in a positive role • Be methodical and diligent in your approach to working. • Have excellent attention to detail. • Be a confident communicator, both written and verbal. • The ability to work with an array of stakeholders. • Be decisive and use initiative.
