Job Description
Job Introduction
You’ll be based at Milestone, a high-support residential service for 14 men with a history of offending and complex presentation that may include dual diagnosis. You will be part of a social care team, working in partnership with clinicians employed by South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and London Probation/ Police Services as well. The work here will be varied and plentiful.
As a Therapeutic Project Worker, you'll make a real difference to people's lives. Passionate about supporting people, you'll enjoy the opportunity and support to enhance your own life and career too, as you make this role your own as part of our friendly, multidisciplinary team.
Role Responsibility
Join our team and you will be responsible for your own caseload, undertaking&formulating risk assessments, and putting effective care and support plans in place. In a role where no two days are the same, you will engage with our residents through group work and activities that may involve therapeutic principles, and will be providing individual support to enable the residents to make informed choices about their future.
You will be required to work 37 hours per week, in a shift pattern including sleep-ins and weekends so you’ll need to be flexible with the hours you are able to work.
The Ideal Candidate
You’ll need previous relevant experience of using a person centred approach in a mental health setting and a good understanding of the complex needs of individuals we support. You must be capable of prioritising your own workload and using your initiative. Experience of working with individuals who have forensic histories would be an advantage. You need to be an effective team player with a proven track record as a supervisor/line manager. You will possess excellent communication skills, a flexible recoveryfocused approach, a positive attitude and be able to adapt in a changeable environment.
