Our Client, a leading contractor in the Oil&Gas sector, has a requirement for a Language Specialist, who will be required to work on a short-term contract basis on a 28-day rotation in UK waters. Role Purpose: Facilitate internal and external communications by providing translation and interpreting services. Ensure that translations and revisions adhere to all relevant target language rules and terminology and are suitable for the specific social, cultural, and operational contexts in which they will be utilized. Comply with corporate language and quality standards in all translations. Perform all activities in alignment with company procedures and budgets. Job Role Responsibilities: Assess existing candidates for English proficiency to determine eligibility for a B1 test, necessary for securing a visa for work in UK waters. Provide translation and language support for workers from diverse backgrounds, predominantly from the Far East. Ensure successful candidates complete the necessary offshore medical assessments and BOSIET training, confirming they are physically fit to undertake the role. Collaborate on scheduling for the 28-day onboard assignments, followed by 28 days of rest, with potential for further trips as necessary. Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications: Fluency in Chinese and English, with proven experience in translation and interpreting. Familiarity with corporate language standards and quality assurance processes. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working with individuals from various cultural backgrounds.
