Job Description
Location: A prominent Kindergarten in Pimlico, London, SW1V
Job Purpose:
To work as a key person and collaboratively with the kindergarten team, providing safe, high-quality education and care that meets the individual needs of children, focusing initially on the Caterpillar Session (ages 2-3 years).
Working Hours:
Term time only
Monday to Thursday: 8 am– 4:30 pm
Friday: 8 am – 1:30 pm
Salary:
£22,000 – £28,000 per annum (GROSS), depending on experience and qualifications. Annual salary review with pay throughout holiday periods.
Qualifications:
Minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification; at least 3 years of experience working with young children.
Start Date:
January 2025
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in planning the EYFS curriculum and prepare the hall for daily programs.
* Serve as a key person for a small group of children in the Caterpillar Session, fostering relationships with parents/carers.
* Monitor children's progress, maintain an electronic learning journal, and complete all documentation related to development.
* Participate in parent-teacher meetings, collaborate with families, and report any concerns regarding children or safety.
* Uphold safeguarding standards, deliver engaging teaching, and ensure children's safety, including following child protection procedures.
* Support lunchtime duties and facilitate outdoor learning experiences.
* Engage in team meetings and training, taking responsibility for personal development while maintaining confidentiality.
* Promote the nursery to current and prospective parents and perform additional duties as directed by the Principal and Head Teacher.

Essential Criteria:
* Minimum Level 3 Early Years education and childcare qualification or equivalent.
* Willingness to learn and grow in the role.
* Previous experience working with young children and a strong knowledge of child development from birth to five years.
* Familiarity with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and understanding of child protection procedures.
* Excellent communication skills and awareness of play-based learning.
