About the company My client is a reputable national self-delivering Civil Engineering contractor who turn over in excess of£250M per annum. They are a multi-disciplined contractor specialising in water, power, telecoms, fibre optic, rail&multi utilities. With over 30 years’ experience of operating major framework contracts and projects of all sizes and complexities, they have proudly worked alongside clients such as Network Rail, SSE, United Utilities, Virgin Media and UKPN. They pride themselves off the standard of work they produce, their kind, family feel atmosphere and the long-term stability of all their employees. About the role Due to my client continuing to grow they are now looking for a Bid Manager to join their Pre-Construction team. The projects that you will be involved in will be working on the multi utility and rail works, working on Thames Water, UKPN and Rail infrastructure projects. You will be working on the power side of the business looking after a long term contract for SSWE where types of works includes substations and cable routes. I personally know a few people who have started in junior positions and have made their way up tosenior roles and they still love working for this company. On top of the Bid Management activities my client is looking someone who can assist in the compilation of pricing clarifications for inclusion with tender submission. You must have had experience working for a well-known utility contractoror rail contractor. The successful candidate will also be involved in planning activities to go in line with the tender and contract requirements, liaise with management and engineers to review the progress of construction projects and address issues. The role will be based in their head office intheir head office in Borehamwood but can also be based out of the office in Slough and will also include site visits into London. Rewards and benefits You will be joining a very successful and well respected company within the civils side of the industry who have long and rich history of delivering projects to the highest of standards. You will be rewarded with a competitive package of between £60,000 and £70,000 plus a package that includes healthcare, 26 days holiday plus bank holidays and a pension. Requirements You’ll be required to have a good standard of education preferably toFoundation Degree level (HND,HNC) in a Construction , Civils, Business of equivalent qualification. It’s important to have experience working within civil engineering as a Bid Manager or an Estimator and to show good long-term stability at the companies you have worked for (1-3 years per companyyou’ve worked for). You’ll also need a full UK driver’s license to allow to get from the office to the construction site and to other locations you might require to
