Nicholas Associates has partnered with a well-known groundworks and civil engineering contractor based in the East Midlands to recruit an experienced Buyer to join their team. They work alongside construction companies and deliver civil engineering, groundworks, infrastructure, roads&sewers services to new build projects with the UK's top house builders. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the construction industry, particularly in groundworks for new build residential, and will be responsible for ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of resources to support project delivery. Key Responsibilities:· Source and procure a continuous supply of materials for residential groundworks projects across the East Midlands. · Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and favourable terms. · Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders. · Ensure purchased materials and services meet quality standards and project specifications. · Monitor and manage supplier performance, addressing any issues promptly. · Collaborate with project managers and site teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and services. · Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier agreements. · Stay up-to-date with market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings, value engineering and process improvements. · Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and health and safety standards.
