Job Title: Lead Engineer (Mechanical)
We are working on behalf of our client, a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation, to recruit a highly motivated and exceptionally organised individual for the role of Lead Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to take a pivotal position within the company, where you will demonstrate exceptional multitasking skills, manage multiple complex projects, and lead a high-performing team in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership capabilities, a solid understanding of engineering principles, and the ability to drive processes and team development. You will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of engineering projects, working collaboratively across teams to meet deadlines and maintain the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Project Planning and Organisation: Coordinate engineering tasks, allocate resources effectively, and manage schedules to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality outputs.
* Team Leadership: Oversee and develop a team of engineers, providing mentorship, conducting regular performance reviews, and fostering professional growth.
* Adaptability and Multitasking: Efficiently manage simultaneous, complex projects with shifting priorities, balancing immediate deliverables with long-term objectives.
* Quality and Compliance: Ensure all team outputs meet company quality standards, as well as regulatory and compliance requirements.
* Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement initiatives to streamline operations, optimise resource utilisation, and improve processes within the engineering function.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a key liaison between the engineering team and other departments, ensuring effective communication and a consistent engineering service.
* Culture and Team Unity: Promote a“one team” culture across the organisation, encouraging collaboration and supporting other teams where possible.
* Health, Safety, and Environmental Leadership: Set a high standard for health and safety within the team, ensuring compliance with company policies and fostering a culture of accountability and safety.
* Strategic Communication: Represent the team in meetings, both internal and cross-functional, to provide updates on progress and align priorities with organisational goals.
Performance Measures:
1. Delivery of team projects on time and to a high standard, with progressmeasured against key performance indicators (KPIs).
2. Successful implementation of initiatives to enhance engineering processes and efficiency.
3. Development of strong relationships with team members, other departments, customers, and suppliers.
4. Evidence of customer-focused outcomes and the integration of value engineering principles within the team's processes.
