Job title:  Harvest Supervisor  Location: Vitacress Salads, Mullens Farm, Pewsey, SN9 6LY  Salary range: Depending on experience  Job Type: Full time. Would you like the opportunity to be apart of our future vision of sustainable farming?  Do you have previous farming experience and interestedin furthering your career?  Well then this could be the perfect opportunity for you!  As our new Supervisor you will be responsible for the management of salad leaf harvesting and dispatch operations at Mullens Farm to the quality and quantity set by our packing functions.  You will also be responsible for ensuring that harvest operations are carried out efficiently and according to the group’s health and safety, food hygiene and cold chain protocols.   During the off-season to you will have the opportunity to assist the growing team, whilst carrying out various maintenance roles andproject work.  Main responsibilities:  Daily communications with Farm Manager, Farm Foreman Fridge Operative, Procurement, Technical, Transport Department and HR. Monitoring and management of harvest operations as efficiently and cost effective as possible.  Making recommendations for improvement where necessary to Farm Manager. Through effective crop walking, ensure a daily rolling forecast of all crops is completed in full, which complies with the raw material specification and crop safety in conjunction with Farm Manager. To oversee the Harvest Team and ensure compliance with all procedures and policies which relates to Health&Safety, Food Hygiene, Farm audits and Environmental Initiatives. Recording and inputting of harvest data onto the traceability system, maintain all relevant documentation and recording. Together with the Farm Manager&Farm Foreman assist in the recruitment of seasonal farm labour In conjunction with the Leaf Farm Administrator complete all necessary Inductions of Seasonal Staff, supporting paperwork and training.   During the harvest season, normal hours will be Monday-Saturday (times are dependent on weather and demand). During the off-season, the normal hours are Monday-Friday (40 hour week).  Ideally you will have previous farming experience with excellent supervisory and organisational skills.
