Group Nursery Manager Hybrid - England£negotiable + car A brand-new role for a household name. British Garden Centres. You'll be at the forefront of developing the business as they further expand their nursery production. Ready to put your knowledge to use? What's the job? This brand-new role will see you reporting to the directors. It's a genuinely exciting opportunity. BGC are incredibly successful, already has plans in place to grow and know they need your expertise to get it right. You'll have overall responsibility for three sites across the UK, including everything associated with growing quality stock. No two daysare the same. Imagine a role like this: Monday: buying stock in line with the crop production plans you have created. Tuesday: over to one site to support the team in further training and development. Wednesday: on to the next site to lead the way with peat-free trials and new products. Thursday: working with the wider business and creating an action plan to ensure stock is where it needs to be at the right time. Friday: producing a continuous improvement action plan to make the most out of your current nurseries, keeping in mind the growing space will be increasing. There's no doubt this is a very important role, so you'll need to be able to wear multiple hats and be able to manage multiple things at any one time. What will I have done? We're looking for someone that understands commercial growing. They grow a huge variety of crops so whatever cropping experience you have; it'll be utilised somewhere. You'll be a confident manager and understand how to communicate, train, and develop the people around you. This one is key, as you will not be with your team every day. It would be great if you've worked on any horticultural projects before, so you understand how to support the growth of the business. It'd also be great if you've had a lot of exposure to peat-free growing methods. Neither of these are essential, though. Who are BGC?
