Siemens Healthineers based in Swords, Dublin, are expanding the Technician team to complement our existing broad range of competencies. The successful candidate must be able to work shift and overtime
and will report to a Team Leader on site in Swords. They will form part of a flexible Manufacturing team supporting the manufacture and testing of medical laboratory diagnostics instrumentation. Candidates will have the potential to develop a strong technical capability with ability to trouble shoot technical problems to root cause.
This is a 11 month programme aimed at transitioning operators to be capable Technicians in a highly technical and highly regulated Med Tech environment.
Your tasks and responsibilities:
Technically responsibility for the testing and debug of medical diagnostic product platforms in a low volume, high complexity and highly regulated technology environment.
Fully responsible for troubleshooting instrument problems and resolution in a timely manner to ensure daily output targets are achieved.
Responsible for meeting production output targets and assigned plant metrics.
Investigate root cause of failures to a component level to ensure elimination of repeat failures.
Develop, improve&maintain good manufacturing practices and workmanship standards with a quality and process robustness focus.
Be responsible for reagent and sample handling ensuring good practices and continuously improving the processes.
Follow process and test instruction to verify instruments before shipment.
Using theoretical knowledge and practical experience, establish causes of malfunction and non-conformance in the electrical, hydraulic and chemical operation of systems and modules with a minimum loss of test time.
Performing inspection operations on sub-assemblies, modules and systems using engineering drawings, schematics, flow diagrams, specifications and methodologies.
Completing and maintaining all necessary paperwork, test data for each system/module to ensure that accurate Quality records are available.
Assisting Engineering in the initial validation, installation and verification of new test procedures, equipment and products.
Reduce waste and improve performance using process&instrument knowledge in alignment with lean and 6 sigma manufacturing techniques.

Your qualifications and experience:
QQI Level 6 qualification in Engineering or Science Discipline (Bio-Chemistry, Chemical, Science, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic.
Ability to troubleshoot to root cause.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
An excellent team player who knows how to work in a team environment.
Enthusiastic and keen to develop theoretical and practical skills.
