Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a numerate, analytically minded individual to join a growing business in the Fleet area in the role of Energy Analyst. Prior experience is not necessary, training will be provided.
The ideal candidate will be an Engineering graduate (or HND or BTEC or similar) with an interest, and ideally some exposure to, the field of Energy / Energy Consumption / Energy Efficiency / Renewable Energy etc. We are open to applicants from any Engineering discipline including Mechanical, Electronic, Electrical, Automotive, Aerospace, Chemical etc. Ideally you will have a basic understanding of HVAC systems / Building Energy Management systems.
Strong data analysis skills are essential, as is a good level of competence using Excel. Any experience of using visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau or Looker would be advantageous, however the client is willing to provide training.
You will be responsible for investigating, explaining and reducing energy waste on customer sites across the UK. Key duties will include:
Maintain and analyse energy data, checking for missing information and anomalies, backfilling and investigating as required
Identify unusual data, highlight potential problems and look into possible causes of increased energy consumption, providing recommendations and solutions where appropriate
Prepare regular / monthly energy reports for clients including energy consumption, meter availability and faults, baseload analysis and energy savings
Maintain records of customer energy meters and energy initiatives, track and calculate energy savings from initiatives implemented
Help develop models to predict future energy consumption and potential energy savings
Assist with the development of strategies for improving energy efficiency
Create new reports and provide ad hoc data where required
Help to identify better ways of working including evaluating new software tools that could improve delivery, presentation or efficiency
Where necessary, attend customer meetings accompanied by Energy Solutions Manager
We are looking for an individual with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a grounding in engineering, and an aptitude to learn. The company is willing to invest in thorough training for the successful applicant and there are lots of opportunities for development as the business is growing.
Starting salary£26 - £32k depending on experience. Please note that due to the location of the office it is essential for applicants to drive, this is an office based role.
