Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment have been given the exciting opportunity to recruit for a production controller for a well known global manufacturer in the DE24 area of Derbyshire. About the Client: Our client specialises in the design, manufacture, supply and erection of structural timbers all over the UK, They are building an organisation where anyone with drive and talent can pursue the career they want. Job Overview: As Production Controller you will be the main liaison between the factory, OCM, hauliers and site management teams. You will coordinate all aspects of production deliveries to varioussites. Pay and Benefits £32,000 - £35,000 starting salary Day shifts (this is subject to change) you will need to be flexible. Monday - Friday  The opportunity to join a thriving business who are expanding due to growth Annual pay reviews Pension Scheme Responsibilities: Deal with client&OCM scheduling requests and queries (phone&email) Maintain production board and manage all aspects of haulage for delivery of items Attend production meetings to ensure production is in line with delivery schedule Report at OCM weekly meetings on any areas of concern for scheduled deliveries/ improvements etc Deal with all day-to-day issues from site / haulage / OCM Work with Managers to plan and manage production tasks to improve runtime Experience: Experience of ERP/MRP systems Proven experience in production planning or manufacturing/logistics management. Good understanding and knowledge of production scheduling and thrives on the challenge of working in a busy department.  Experience in operating production control systems Strong IT skills (able to learn FrameIT) and fully competent on Word&Excel Relevant professional training/qualifications would be an advantage but are not essential. Working knowledge of timber frame manufacture and construction is desirable Essential: Is able and willing to work flexibly to suit the needs and demands of the role. This may involve working different hours/days to accommodate shift working and potentially travel away from home to visit alternate factory sites Has a good understanding and knowledge of production scheduling and thrives on the challenge of working in a busy department.  Has strong planning skills with the ability to handle multiple projects through to completion and to manage competing priorities.  Full Clean Driving Licence  If this is the role that you think is perfect for you please click APPLY NOW so that we can get a start date organised for you as immediate starts are available!
