Bristol, South West England 1 month ago
Job Description
At Lift Schools, we believe education can transform lives – and we want every child in our schools to achieve their full potential.
This classroom-based Initial Teacher Training (ITT) programme will see successful candidates based in one of our 57 schools, including primary, secondary and special schools, educating more than 33,000 pupils across the country – from Middlesbrough in the north to Devon in the west, Essex in the east and the Isle of Wight in the south. The Programme:
On the programme you'll gain a PGCE (Post-Graduate Certificate of Education) and your Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) whilst working hands-on in the classroom as a primary school teacher.
Your immediate impact on your students will be guided by your tutor and coach, supporting you as you build up your independent teaching time during the year.
Summer school - We provide two weeks of intensive preparation in August. This ensures you enter the classroom with a good grounding in educational theory and practice.
Personalised support - Your tutor and in-school coach will be on hand to offer advice and discuss any challenges.
Weekly training sessions - These sessions will take place throughout your training year, enhancing the skills you’re learning in the classroom.
National support network - We have trainees – and recent former trainees – in schools around the country. As a Lift Schools trainee, you will be able to draw on support from across our trust – during your training year and beyond.
Commitment to equal opportunity - We are committed to diversity and equal opportunity in our trust and its schools, and we provide a support system to ensure that all our trainees are able to reach their full potential.
The training programme itself is school-based and you will spend half a day every week in a session with your tutor and other trainees from the network.
Locations:
Barnsley, Bristol, Birmingham, Bradford, Essex, Gloucestershire, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Kent, London, Leeds, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Middlesbrough, Milton Keynes, Sheffield, Staffordshire, Surrey, Swindon and Torbay.
You’ll Benefit From:
13 weeks holiday.
Generous Teacher Pension scheme.
Private health insurance.
Blue Light Card (Discounts) and Vivup company discount scheme.
Permanent employment contracts available beyond the training year.
**Please note, this is a Tuition Fee paying training place - though a £3,000 Lift Schools Bursary will be available to supplement and support any student finance. Your second (Early Career Teacher) year is guaranteed and the salary will be £31,000 minimum.**
