Job Advert Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking passionate Male Support Workers to join our incredible team in Brighton&Hove. Drivers required As a Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs. From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life. The people within the service have a busy schedule and love to be out and about but will require support when going out in the community. The adults we support enjoy a variety of hobbies and activities. At our Brighton service, we have four properties where youwill be supporting both ladies and gentlemen in our supported living service. We also support a number of people throughout our outreach services – in total we support 43 people! Ages range from 18 to 75 – offering a real variety in both personalities and experiences of the people we support, which allows us to clearly focus on our person centred approach. The people we support in Brighton&Hove see many things as being important to them, be it through supporting them in adult life with a large variety of activities and developing both existing and new skills. You will be supporting people with their daily living tasks with things like finances, shopping for all things and healthy menu planning. You will also support individuals with their hobbies, be it through swimming, hosting parties or baking –who doesn’t enjoy a cheeky slice of cake? Furthermore, you will also be required to support a number of people through our outreach service throughoutBrighton&Hove - ensuring that no two days will be the same with Mencap. Flexibility is important as support is delivered throughout the day, with shifts spread across morning, afternoons and evenings. You will be required to work some weekends and some bank holidays. What we're looking for: · A genuine passion for supporting others. · Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships. · Flexibility to work variousshifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. · A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities. .
