About the role The school in Bradford is seeking an experienced and ambitious Subject Lead for History to join a dedicated school from September 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and develop the History department, shaping the curriculum and driving academic excellence. As Subject Lead for History, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of teaching and learning within the department. You will be responsible for curriculum planning, staff development, and ensuring that students are engaged and inspired to achieve exceptional outcomes. Position Details Location: Bradford Contract: Permanent from September 2025 Pay Rate:£31650 - £49084 (+5596) MPS/UPS + TLR 2Essential Requirements Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification Proven experience in leading a department or holding a leadership position. Eligibility to work in the UK. An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingnessto apply for one).Desirable Skills Experience of working with diverse student populations. Knowledge of effective intervention strategies. Strong knowledge of the secondary history curriculum. Experience in curriculum planning and development. Experience in mentoring and supporting staff development. Ability to inspire and motivate both students and colleagues. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the History department to deliver outstanding teaching and learning. Develop and implement a clear strategic vision for the department. Design and deliver a challenging and engaging History curriculum. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching practices within the department. Provide professional guidance and support to teaching staff. Ensure that the curriculum is inclusive and reflective of diverse historical perspectives. Promote cross-curricular links to enhance student understanding of historical context. Promote a positive learning environment that encourages student engagement.
