Our client is an International Global Freight Forwarder, specialising within the Far East, USA as their main areas. Now due to expansion we are now recruiting for a Finance Analyst based in Birmingham In this position you will be working closely with the internal operations teams to review processes and patterns, working together with key stakeholders of varying seniority and implement improvements across the business Main Responsibilities * Identify financial status by comparing and analysing actual results with plans and forecasts. Liaising with procurement team to compare and contrast budgeting P& Ls vs Actuals at customer and trade level * Improve financial status by analysing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management. Review intermonth variances and review costs against company procedures e.g. profit expectations and director sign off * Review open reserves to identify trends and compare actual invoices v open reserves * Guide cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures; providing trends and forecasts; explaining processes and techniques; recommending actions * Enforce company policies and procedures and offer training to departments and team members to ensure costing improvement * Recommend actions by analysing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses; studying proposed changes in methods and materials. Liaise with all members of the business to suggest best practice and make efficiencies to costing process * Increase productivity by developing automated accounting applications; coordinating information requirements * Support operational and commercial departments where required Experience and Skills needed * We are looking for candidates with strong numerical and analytical skills who can demonstrate attention to detail and experience in problem solving and excel * Experience of working in the logistics sector is preferred * Ideally have experience in Cargowise * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Excellent planning and attention to detail * Enthusiastic, flexible, and self-motivated * Excellent usage of computer / operating system (Microsoft Windows) along with other office applications Package and Benefits: * Salary 27,000 to 30,000 Circa dependent upon experience * Pension * 22 days holiday to start * Rewards and Discounts * Heath care plan * Cycle to work scheme * Social events * Free Parking * Plus more
