As the national archive for Northern Ireland, PRONI has a statutory role for the reception, preservation and provision of access to records. PRONI is based in purpose built premises in Belfast’s Titanic Quarter and the Director will have responsibility for leading the organisation towards high performance and maximising the opportunities afforded by these premises for excellent customer service and providing a cultural tourism offer in support of the NI Executive’s Programme for Government.  Leading PRONI at the beginning of the 21st century will be an exciting and challenging task. The successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to develop the organisation at a time of significant change in government and in the world of archives and records. He or she will require considerable leadership and management skills, with a particular focus on the management of change. The new Director will need to develop PRONI to meet current and emerging professional and technological challenges and to promote the organisation as a centre of expertise in archives and records management.   Applications are welcomed from suitable candidates from the private, public and not-for-profit sectors. This post may be filled by  secondment of the successful candidate from his/her current employer.
