Windsor Forest Colleges group is looking for an Animal Management Lecturer to join our Animal Science Department at Berkshire College of Agriculture (BCA)team on a Permanent Contract Part-Time (0.86 FTE). Animal Management Lecturer This Animal Management Lecturer role is part-time working 32 hours per week, reporting directly to the Head of Department.The primary purpose of the role is to provide exceptional teaching and assessment experiences to students, thereby enabling them to maximize their potential.This includes preparing and delivering educational content, assessing student performance, and fostering an environment conducive to learning. Key responsibilities for the Animal Management Lecturer include the design and implementation of teaching, learning, and assessment strategies. This involves participating in student interviews, enrolment, and induction, preparing detailed schemes of work and lesson plans, and providing continuous assessment and feedback. It should be noted that to be successful candidates should have a background in at least two of the following subject areas: Animal Biology, Veterinary Nursing, Animal Health, Animal Behaviour/Welfare, Zoo Animal Husbandry/Management. With experience of working with a wide range of animals inclusive of; dogs, cats, small mammals and exotic mammals/ectotherms. It is also a benefit for you to have experience of working within an Accredited Animal Collection or organization such as a Zoo, Wildlife/Animal Park, Animal Rescue or Veterinary Practice. Preferably this should be UK based experience as you will be expected to be knowledgeable of and able to teach a range of UK legislation and have a firmunderstanding/experience of how animals in captivity are managed in the UK. The Animal Management Lecturer is also expected to offer academicsupport, prepare students for various assessments, and maintain accurate student records.Additionally, the role includes contributing to curriculum development and participating in a range of college-related activities such as parents’ evenings and marketing events.
