In Ireland they operate as more of a generalist main contractor working across a variety of industry sectors including healthcare / hospitals, residential, education and industrial Due to a recent project win, our client is now seeking a Senior Design Coordinator in Drogheda. Responsibilities * Design Coordination and Integration: The Senior Design Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all design elements of the data centre are fully integrated. This includes collaborating with architects, engineers (structural, electrical, mechanical), and other specialists to align designs across all disciplines. They ensure that designs are coordinated to meet the specific needs of a data centre, including power systems, cooling solutions, and security infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration between these critical systems. * Technical Oversight and Quality Control: They provide high-level oversight of the technical aspects of the design process. The Senior Design Coordinator ensures that all designs meet the client’s requirements, industry standards, and project specifications, while addressing potential technical challenges. In data centre projects, this could involve ensuring that cooling systems, electrical distribution, and fire suppression designs meet rigorous industry standards to support mission-critical environments. * Design Schedule Management: The Senior Design Coordinator is responsible for managing the design timeline, ensuring that the design and approvals are completed on schedule. They track progress, anticipate potential delays, and communicate with design teams to resolve any issues that may arise, all while aligning with the overall construction schedule. In data centre projects, this is particularly important as design delays can impact the buildout of complex systems like power redundancy and network infrastructure. * Stakeholder Communication and Reporting: As the primary liaison between the client, project manager, and design teams, the Senior Design Coordinator ensures that all stakeholders are kept informed about design progress, changes, and issues. They regularly provide updates to senior management and clients and facilitate meetings to address any concerns, ensuring that client expectations are met while managing any design changes or revisions. Communication with the client is especially critical in data centre projects due to the sensitive nature of the operations that the facility will support. * Compliance and Regulatory Coordination: Data centre projects are subject to a range of specific regulations and standards (e.g., Tier certifications, electrical codes, environmental regulations). The Senior Design Coordinator ensures that the designs comply with all relevant local and international standards, industry certifications, and regulations. This includes working closely with regulatory authorities, ensuring all designs meet safety, environmental, and performance standards specific to data centres, such as redundancy, disaster recovery, and energy efficiency. Requirements * 5 years’ industry experience working as a Design Manager on Commercial/Resi and or Data Centre, Industrial * Relevant Third level qualification (Engineering or Architectural) * Previous Main Contractor experience is desirable Benefits €55,000 - €75,000 +
