Job Description
MYM Recruitment are working with our new Rasharkin client who are a leading manufacturer in their industry. Due to Company growth, they currently have an opening for a HR Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day to day running of the HR department including coordinating all functions in relation to employment. They will help to develop the company culture through people related processes.
Duties and responsibilities:
Managing the recruitment processes – developing job descriptions and personal specifications, preparing advertisements, and placing in relevant job boards and social media, checking application forms, shortlisting, interviewing and selecting candidates.
Developing the HR systems and processes.
Working with the senior team to strategically determine areas of improvement.
Working with and liaising with the Company’s retained HR advisors.
Working with team members and assisting them in HR related matters such as: –
Dealing with grievances, investigations, and disciplinary hearings.
Assisting with all inductions of new starters and ensuring all paperwork is completed and identification and driving documents (if required) are placed on file.
Ensuring all agency staff have received induction and H&S training before entering the premises.
Ensuring all family friendly policies are adhered to including maternity, paternity, and flexible working applications etc.
Reviewing policies and procedures in line with legislative changes, liaising with the Company’s retained advisors to make amendments to same.
Gathering daily absence information and keeping accurate records to ensure the correct deductions are processed via payroll.
Retaining employee annual leave applications and keeping accurate records.
Time and attendance support to Line Managers.
Designing and delivering personal development of line managers.
Designing and delivering competency-based staff training.
Designing, delivering, and reporting on a central HR Strategy.
Utilising an HR associate and other team members to assist in the delivery of key initiatives.
Working closely with Line Managers, assisting them to understand and implement policies and procedures and employment legislation changes.
Promoting equality and diversity as part of the culture of the organisation.
Third level qualification in relevant discipline.
CIPD membership or working towards completion.
A minimum of 3 years’ generalist experience working within a HR department.
Experience in people management.
Experience in reviewing staff development needs and coordinating training requirements.
Up to date knowledge of employment legislation and current HR practices.
Proficient in the use of IT systems, including Microsoft Office, MS Teams, Zoom etc.
Excellent attention to detail.
Excellent communication and organisational skills, with proven ability to manage a varied workload.
Flexible approach and the ability to prioritise.
Administrative ability.
Experience in handling all core HR departmental areas, including employee relations, HR admin, learning and development, internal recruitment, employee engagement and maintaining and improving HR systems.
Competent in HR systems.
Able to engage confidently at all levels within an organisation.
Proven team player, with ability to act upon initiative.
Amenable to travel to offices in Scotland if required.
Clean valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for business purposes.
CIPD level 5 qualification.
Experience of working in HR within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Experience designing and implementing strategic improvements.
History of practical involvement in developing line management skills.
