Job Description

Electrical Estimator– Data Centres – Ireland Our client is an established main contractor working across Europe specialising in the delivery of Data Centre construction projects on behalf of global blue-chip clients. They offer a full turnkey service for their clients from design, construction and handover acrossthe full range of CSA (civil, structural, architectural), MEP (mechanical and electrical) and commissioning works The need now exists for an experienced Electrical Estimator to join the team working on a Hyper-Scale Data Centre new build scheme in Ireland. Responsibilities Electrical Systems CostEstimation: Develop detailed cost estimates for electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, emergency backup systems, and specialized data centre infrastructure (e.g., UPS, generators, and transformers). Ensure all electrical components meet project specifications. Material&Labor Procurement: Identify and quantify the necessary materials, equipment, and labor for electrical works. Source quotes from suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality and safety. Review of Design Plans: Review and analyze project blueprints, electrical layouts, and technical specifications. Work closely with the design team to assess the electrical requirements and ensure accurate integration of the electrical systems into the overall design. Risk Analysis and Contingency Planning: Conduct risk assessments related to electrical installations, considering potential complications, safety hazards, or delays. Provide contingency plans and cost adjustments for unforeseen issues during construction. Collaboration with Project Managers&Engineers: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to ensure that electrical designs are feasible, accurate, and aligned with project timelines. Offer input during the planning phase to prevent delays or budget overruns. Bid Preparation&Cost Reporting: Prepare comprehensive bids and cost breakdowns for electrical works on new data centre projects. Track and report any cost changes or discrepancies during the construction phase, providing regular updates to senior management and clients. Requirements Degree or equivalent qualified in Quantity Surveying 5+ years’ experience in Quantity Surveying/Estimating role Data centre experience preferred. Must be able to travel.
