Applications Engineer Job Overview: My client, a market leader in renowned sliding head and fixed head machinery, is looking to recruit an Applications Engineer to join their growing team. This field-based role offers the opportunity to work with some of the best technology available in the UK and provide technical solutions to their diverse customer base. Due to continued growth, they are expanding their Applications Engineering team and are seeking engineers with a strong background in programming and problem-solving. Key Responsibilities: Customer&Dealer Support: * Travel across the UK, Ireland, and overseas to provide machine setup, prove-out, cutting, and operator training. * Support dealers with machine demonstrations, machine settings, and programming assistance. Technical Expertise&Problem Solving: * Develop and implement machine programs to solve customer manufacturing problems. * Troubleshoot complex technical issues and offer concise, understandable solutions to customers. * Provide accurate cycle time estimations and process planning to optimise machine efficiency. Machine Installation&Testing: * Install machines at customer sites, ensuring full operational functionality and adherence to factory specifications. * Test machines and ensure they are fully operational, resolving any issues promptly. Training&Documentation: * Deliver training courses to customers and dealer staff to ensure effective machine operation. * Create and update training materials, reports, and troubleshooting documentation. Continuous Improvement: * Stay updated on new models and machine technologies to maintain the company’s competitive edge. * Assist in developing best practices and internal training materials. Experience and Skills Required: * Proven experience in an applications or technical support role within the machine tools or manufacturing industry. * Strong knowledge of metal cutting processes,tooling, and cutting techniques. * Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues in a simple and concise manner. * Full UK driving licence with flexibility for travel across the UK, Ireland, and international territories.
