Learn more about our extraordinary teams building inspiring projects in our Impact Report.  Project Overview: Bechtel Mining and Metals offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the mining sector across multiple commodities including Iron Ore, Bauxite, Alumina, Aluminium, Copper, Gold, Coal, Lithium and Rare Earths markets.  Headquartered in Santiago, Chile, the M&M global business unit also has offices in Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide in Australia along with execution units in the United States, Peru, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, India and other project locations around the world. Job Summary: As Senior Controls System Engineer, you will conduct field investigations and client interviews to determine work scope and cost estimates for a project’s control systems aspects. You will lead design, development, modification, and evaluation of control systems components and processes. Your recommendations will resolve technical issues and ensure unique and complex requirements of a project’s control systems aspects are met.  Major Responsibilities: Evaluates, selects, and applies Control Systems engineering methods, techniques, procedures and criteria to include the preparation of original design layouts, details, drawings and specifications​.   Designs, develops, modifies, and evaluates mechanical components and processes utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs).​   Prepares conceptual studies, designs, reports or proposals.​   Coordinates Control Systems engineering efforts in assigned areas with specialty groups, engineering disciplines, the client, vendor, contractors, construction and other functional groups​.  When delegated, provides guidance to other Control Systems engineering personnel for specific tasks or projects.​   Education and Experience Requirements: Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10  years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.  Required Knowledge and Skills: Must demonstrate understanding and working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.  Familiarity with Bechtel Standard Applications (BSAPs), including Setroute, TEAMWorks, Aconex, DSCS, Unifier, Agile, Navisworks, and Universal Plant Viewer is preferred.    Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.  Strong communication and relationship management skills.   Working Rights in Australia without employer sponsorship are required.
