The Fiber Cable PLM for the APAC region is responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of fiber optic cable products within the region, from inception and design through to end-of-life management. This role involves close collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, marketing, and sales teams, as well as managing relationships with 3rd party cable suppliers and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), to ensure that products are developed, launched, and maintained in alignment with company objectives and market demands. Key Responsibilities Product Development: Collaborate with engineering teams to define and develop new fiber optic cable products tailored to the APAC market. Ensure that product specifications meet regional market requirements and align with company goals. Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape within the APAC region. Utilize insights to inform product development and positioning strategies. Lifecycle Management: Manage the product lifecycle from initial concept through to end-of-life specific to the APAC region. This includes coordinating product launches, updates, and discontinuations. Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, marketing, sales, and customer service, to ensure seamless product rollouts and customer satisfaction in the APAC region. Management of Suppliers and OEMs: Oversee and manage relationships with 3rd party cable suppliers and OEMs in the APAC region. Ensure that partnerships are aligned with company standards and product quality expectations. Product Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyze product performance metrics, including sales, customer feedback, and quality issues within the APAC region. Implement improvements as needed. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of product specifications, development processes, and performance metrics for the APAC market. Provide regular reports to senior management. Compliance and Standards: Ensure that all products meet relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements within the APAC region. Stay updated on changes in regulations and standards. Customer Engagement: Engage with customers in the APAC region to gather feedback on products, address concerns, and identify opportunities for improvement. Foster strong customer relationships to support product success. Training and Support: Provide training and support to sales and customer service teams in the APAC region to ensure they have the knowledge and tools needed to effectively promote and support fiber cable products. Ongoing implementation and management of the APAC Cable Strategy. Collaborate with Inhouse and partner engineering teams to define new fiber optic cable products for the APAC market. Conduct research to identify market trends, customer needs, and competition within the APAC region. Utilize insights for product development and positioning. Oversee the product lifecycle from concept through to end-of-life in the APAC region, including product launches, updates, and discontinuations. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with  CM’s, manufacturing, marketing, sales, and customer service teams to ensure seamless product rollouts and customer satisfaction. Supplier and OEM Management: Manage relationships with 3rd party cable suppliers and OEMs in the APAC region, ensuring alignment with company standards and product quality. Product Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze product performance metrics, including sales, customer feedback, and quality issues. Implement improvements as needed. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain product documentation and provide regular reports to senior management. Ensure products meet industry standards and regulations in the APAC region and stay updated on regulatory changes. Customer Engagement: Gather feedback from APAC customers, address concerns, and identify improvement opportunities. Foster strong customer relationships. Training and Support: Provide training and support to APAC sales, PLM, FAE & CS Teams Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in Product Management or related areas are a plus. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management, preferably within the telecommunications or fiber optics industry, with a focus on the APAC region. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of fiber optic cable technology, including design, manufacturing processes, and industry standards. Familiarity with suppliers and OEMs in the APAC region is highly desirable. Analytical Skills: Proficient in market analysis, data analysis, and performance monitoring. Ability to translate data into actionable insights. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively. Project Management: Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and build strong working relationships. Problem-solving: Creative problem-solving skills with the ability to address challenges and implement effective solutions. Customer Focus: Strong customer orientation with a commitment to understanding and meeting customer needs in the APAC region. The Fiber Cable PLM will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, often involving collaboration with remote teams and customers. This role may require occasional travel to manufacturing sites, customer locations, and industry events within the APAC region.
