Bechtel is partnering with Next Decade to support their vision to provide the world access to lower carbon intensive energy with their Rio Grande LNG (RGLNG) project in Brownsville, Texas. RGLNG is a natural gas liquefaction and export terminal situated on a 984-acre site on the banks of the Brownsville ship channel. The first phase of the RGLNG project consists of three liquefaction trains, two storage tanks and one marine berth. At full capacity, the five-train facility will have a production capacity of 27 million tonnes per annum (MTPA). This role is based in Bechtel India’s Gurgaon office. The selected candidate will be hired through an approved employment agency on a fixed term contract. The Workface Planner Mechanical will prepare Installation Work Packages (IWPs) and Material Take-offs (MTOs) for mechanical discipline. Responsible to support office construction activities, including constructability reviews, ensuring safety in design, and providing input to engineering and procurement teams to improve Total Installed Cost (TIC) on projects. Major Responsibilities: The Mechanical Workface Planner is responsible for developing Installation work packages (IWPs) for Mechanical installations in addition to being accountable for developing the detailed IWP release plan (90-Day schedule) with the Responsible superintendent, Responsible Field Engineer. The Mechanical Workface Planner will review general installation priorities and check to assure the work accomplished meets the project requirements. Reviews work scope, checking sequences, access, resources, equipment needs, pre-work, materials, and support services. The Mechanical Workface Planner prepares the scope of the IWP in coordination with mechanical field engineer to gain approval for the IWP. Workface Planner will perform random checking of IWPs assembled by the other Workface planner. Understand work packaging philosophy, scope of installation, Work Breakdown Structure and scoping of installation work packages. Monitor project schedule and ensure performance and timely delivery of IWPs; coordinate with Project Controls team, planners, other stakeholder of the project and ensure piping IWPs are issued as per the project priorities Monitor quality of IWPs ensuring scoping and preparation of IWPs is done right the first time Attend progress meetings, maintain effective interface with site management team, client’s organization ensuring IWPs, and advance work packaging efforts are effectively delivered on the project. Develops detailed mechanical Installation Work Package (IWPs) as per the project guidelines and procedures, which includes, compiling mechanical & piping installation drawings, Isometrics, installation details, model snapshots, vendor drawings, inspection test records, flange connection datasheets or any other documents or Engineering deliverables associated with the IWPs. Supports development of various other construction engineering deliverables like material takeoff of Piping bulk material and vendor supplied piping components and bulks; upload material take-off quantities and other attributes of Work Packages into the TEAMWorks database or project specific database. Preparation of work packages and method statement for module interconnects, field welds, removal of shipping supports, and other activities involved in installation of module.   Preparation of IWP constrains list and assist in resolution and closure of constraints or engineering issues. Education and Experience Requirements: A recognized degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum 10 years of relevant experience on Oil & Gas projects, or 15 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree Required Knowledge and Skills: Experienced Mechanical Field Engineer or Mechanical Superintendent on large LNG, Oil & Gas or Petrochemical  projects. Experienced in installation and assembly of large process equipment  like process vessels, vessel internals, drums, rotating equipment like pumps, compressors, turbines and other  static and rotation equipment Proficient in reading drawings, vendor deliverables, engineering data and experienced in assembly of engineering deliverables in a form of installation work package for construction crews Leadership experience and good interpersonal skills  and ability to influence internal and external stakeholders. Effective communication skills and ability to work with multiple nationalities. Technical knowledge of all phases of mechanical construction engineering. Prior experience working in a field engineering or field supervision position in an organization supporting direct-hire work /subcontract preferred. Prior experience in scoping and assembly of work packaging is desired. Proficient in interpreting design, specifications and industry standards and codes. Prior experience with using tools and software related to Construction planning, proposals, execution, and monitoring preferred. Ability to travel to domestic and international job sites on short-term or long-term assignments.
