On site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.
Responsibilities
Tasks
· Manage a team of Technical Support Technicians assisting Elevator Mechanics in the field
· Hire, train, coach and monitor performance of the Technical Support Department
· Perform annual appraisals, goal setting and personal development programs
· Review new part manuals and troubleshooting guides for new product
· Manage escalations for installation and repair of elevators (Elvoron products, MR, HR, CPL, LULA, and ELULA), vertical platform lifts (Genesis and Opal), and inclined lifts (Artira, Xpress 2, and Xpress 3) according to specifications.
· Review wiring diagram schematic for all elevators, vertical platform lifts and incline lifts
· Studying mechanical drawings to determine the layout of system components.
· Performing Tier 1 troubleshooting (identifying issues and communicating known solutions).
· Performing Tier 2 troubleshooting (using schematics, wiring diagrams, and sequence of operations to determine faults).
· Performing Tier 3 troubleshooting (field inspection, liaising with engineers, product managers, and other subject matter experts to develop and execute resolutions).
· Assist with resolving construction issues during installation, such as plumbing the hoistway, cabling and wiring in the hoistway, landing door installation and adjustment, and elevator access door installation where applicable
· Assist with identifying defective products, including attaching ropes to slings, cab gate assembly, cab door assembly, hydraulic power pack assembly, and COP assembly.
· Resolving safety issues with Mechanics, including checking power locks, mechanical interlocks, overspeed arrestors and governors, rupture valves, and relief valves.
· Supervise Parts Team for processing parts orders, identifying correct parts for field repairs or replacements, and conducting parts lookups.
· Identifying quality issues and defect patterns.
· Assisting in the creation and distribution of technical and product bulletins.
· Virtually assist Mechanics with dismantling defective units and repairing or replacing damaged or worn components.
· Support Mechanics adjusting parts such as hydraulic power pack control speed and acceleration control valves, flow control valves, cab and landing door functions, PLCs, main controllers, and inverters.
· Gathering technical information from manuals and drawings and transmitting it to mechanics.
· Train Mechanics and new employees on regular preventative maintenance to ensure public safety and equipment reliability.
