Location of Work: 35 Elm Street, Walkerton, ON, N0G2V0 Title of Position: Welder-Fitter (NOC 72106) Language: English Vacancies: 2 Type of Position: Permanent, full time Job Duties: · Read and interpret blueprints and welding process specifications. · Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as MIG, TIG and Flux-Core. · Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment. · Operate metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears and other metal shaping, straightening and bending machines. · Pipe fitting/welding · Determine weldability of materials. · Operate hoisting and lifting equipment. · Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products. · Previous fitting experience. · Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications. Skills Required: · Fast-paced environment, physically demanding, standing for extended periods. · Manual dexterity, attention to detail, hand-to-eye coordination. · Organized, team player, reliable. Experience Required: · 3-5 years of experience ·Experience in pressure vessel and/or piping spools, and TIG (aluminum and stainless steel). · Experience in fabricating/welding techniques such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux core arc welding (FCAW), fusion welds, multipass, resistance, spot or seam. · Experience working with Stainless steel (polishing and welding) Education Required: · Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
