Location of Work: Detour Lake Mine, 86, 2nd St; End of HWY 652, Cochrane, ON, P0L1C0, CANADA Title of Position: Ultra Class Mechanic (NOC 72401) Language: English Vacancies: 20 Type of Position: Permanent, full time Job Duties: · Performing regular servicing, preventative maintenance and repairs on all applicable mobile equipment; · Use of computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of required repairs; · Repairing hydraulic, powertrain and electrical systems; · Use of various tools including hydraulic power units, torque wrenches, hoists, voltmeter, megger and ampere meter; · Identifying and reporting part requirements and supplies as required; · Preparing electronic service reports and documentation in an accurate and timely manner; · Maintaining a safe, clean and efficient work area; · Basic instrumentation troubleshooting (temperature sensor, pressure sensor and tachometer); · Understanding of PLC logic and providing troubleshooting activities as required; · May maintain equipment rated for 24 volt to 13.8KV; · Ensure that safety issues are reported to the supervisor and promptly remedied; · Promote a positive health, safety and environment culture and the Internal Responsibility System. Skills Required: · Strong electrical troubleshooting experience · Strong hydraulic troubleshooting experience · Highly competent in the use of Cat SIS and ET software · Rotational / Remote work experience preferable · Understanding of motor control logic and MCC (600V), DC motor control (static drive) and AC drives beneficial Experience Required: · 3-5 years of experience (preferably working on Cat ultra class trucks (793 / 794 / 795 / 796 / 797 / 798) · Experience working with diesel power generation / high voltage Education Required: · Completion of secondary school or vocational program or equivalent experience.
